#140013 National Slots USPSA

Posted by Rob on 07 March 2013 - 07:25 PM

Guys

I have received the slots for both of the national matches, I got 11 for the limited/open match in St. George Utah on Sept. 27-29, and 6 for the Production match at USSA on Oct. 16-19.

After talking to the club reps we have agreed the fairest way to distribute these slots is by random draw with the following requirments

1  Be a current member of USPSA

2 Have at least 7 classifiers on file at USPSA showing that you have shot within the Okla Section from March1 2012 to March 1 2013.

3 Be 110% sure that you will attend either matches that you ask for.

For those wanting a slot please email me at oklasection@gmail.com and tell me which one you are asking for before May 1, any unclaimed slots I will need to send back to USPSA before June 3.

I would like to have the drawing for both slots at OKC on May 4, we will draw 11 for the Lim/Open plus 6 alternates in case the people drawn cannot go,  and 6 for the Production match with the same alternates. This way everyone has the same chance to go if they meet the requirements and there is no wondering who got the slots. Just please be sure you are current and classifiers are posted.

Thanks
Rob Elston

Do you have to be a USPSA menber to be a NROI certified range officer?

Yes, but it's the best money you will spend

I am trying to come up with a way to have a RO class, probably won't happen this though. As Ryan said,it cost I'm guessing around $600-800 to get a NROI instructor to come for the weekend to give the class. If there is enough interest I will look into it and see what would be involved to get one. But,we would have to have more than enough money sitting in the bank before scheduling a class to pay for it, I think the class I took was $40 and enjoyed every minute of it.

This is why the section needs to have some sort of fund to help with this sort of thing.

Does the section get X number of slots for each divisions nationals based on how many people shoot each division at our monthly matches? Or is just the total number of shooters used?

If everyone at our club matches had shot production in 2012 would we be getting more slots for production nationals?

As soon as I know how many slots the Section has gotten I WILL make it public here and on the section email list

I do have an idea on how the slots can be distributed that would be fair for those that shoot the Okla Section, I need to change the by-laws in order to do this. I will say this, if my plan does get approved there WILL NOT be any "buddy deals"! I want this to be as fair for a D class shooter all the way to a GM.

Again if you have'nt sent me your email please do so, any ideas or suggestions will be kept private, any announcements will be posted here

Thanks

So what's the idea for those Nationals Slots? If I need to start shooting every match in the state to "win" one ill do it.

Probably wouldnt hurt

Thank you all, this is not a campain speech, but what I see is the members are out of the loop of what is going on inside the section, so what I would like for people to do is send me your email address to oklasection@Gmail.com. This way I can listen to your concerns, ideas, or bitches on the way things are going, and I can report of what I am trying to do. I am trying to open up the line of communication to everyone in the section to hear your ideas not just the club reps. The biggest thing coming up is the slots for the Production Nationals at USSA, how do we distribute them out? I believe that I've got a fair way that rewards the people that shoot the Oklahoma Section. So please send me your email and give me your ideas!

Thank You
Rob
