#256252 Looking for a Loki Lower receiver

Posted by CPWSA on 04 June 2019 - 07:38 AM

Not sure if you're still looking for a Loki lower.  See my earlier post where I was looking for a Loki upper.  There's one, if not two scammers out there claiming to have Loki receivers they want to sell.  If you want to email me I'll be happy to share the pics and their info with you.  Proceed with caution.

Was wondering if anyone might have a Loki billet upper they'd part with?

I appreciate the kind words and the business.

#218252 Let's see your 3-Gun/"Tacticool" rifle set up!

I took some of our 16" barrels and cut them down to 14.5", then permanently attached a muzzle brake to prevent having to get a SBR tax stamp.  Testing this setup now.  I'm liking it so far.  The small bit of length reduction is noticeable when comparing the 14.5" upper to the 16" barrel version in tight quarters, patrol car, residence, etc.

Thanks for the pic guys!.  I had the pleasure of shooting on squad 2 with three of the Boomer shooters in that picture.  It was a great time.  BoomerShooter.com was well represented at that match.

#206966 3-gun optics questions

Posted by CPWSA on 18 February 2015 - 12:33 PM

I have two rifles that have different optics setups that I'll switch back and forth depending on the match.  For Tac Optics division at a match with targets at 300 yards or more, I'll use a Swaro Z6i.  More high end scopes are coming into the 1x to 6x arena now so there are some other good options at that price point in a 1 x 6.

A 1x to 4x Burris MTAC or Bushnell AR optic is a great choice for something that gets the job done but doesn't break the bank. Our monthly Atlanta 3 Gun club match is basically rifle stuff in pistol bays with no long range at all.  There, even shooting Tac Optics, I'll use my patrol rifle which is the same rifle setup as the Z6i (just a heavier trigger), an aluminum body Tactical CMore with co-witness back up irons.  I'm not sure I'm not just a little faster with the CMore than the Z6i on non-long range targets; nothing at all to block peripheral vision and the Z6i and a mount is not a lightweight setup, so the patrol rifle is noticeably lighter which I like.  Were it not for that rifle getting bounced around a patrol car on a regular basis, I'd have gone with the standard (non-aluminum) railway CMore.

#203390 Adjustable Gas Block

Posted by CPWSA on 13 January 2015 - 03:48 PM

I like the Syrac Ordnance; especially the Gen II which has the internal detent as opposed to an external detent on the Gen 1 which required a second hex key to make adjustments.  Many adjustable gas blocks simply have a screw that is turned 1/8 of a turn, 1/4, or some arbitrary amount to allow more, or restrict gas flow.  Each adjustment on the Syrac is detented and clicks into place so there is no thought to "that should be about 1/8 of a turn".  I run most of mine six clicks from fully closed.  This adjustment cycles all factory ammo as well as some 2000 fps 55 FMJ stuff I play around with.  Once adjustments are made, the locking detent means the setting stays put under recoil.  All adjustments are made from the front and Syrac provides a hex key that's 6" long so unless you've got a super long handguard on a short gas system, you should always be able to make adjustments without removing the handguard.

#202354 Probably a dumb question on etiquette

Posted by CPWSA on 05 January 2015 - 12:25 PM

I think if anyone would be offended, it would be the sponsor who donated the product(s).  As a new sponsor to the forum in 2015, I can only answer for myself in that respect.  With that said, I completely understand that there would be some items I might donate that the winner of said item(s) may not have a need for.  I would not be offended at all if the winner offered them up for sale, donated them to a junior shooter, or swapped the items for something they needed.  It might be nice in the Want Ad posting to reference the supplier of said item(s) to further promote that sponsor and their business.  My two cents from a non Prius driving, meat eating guy.  I will admit I sometimes eat with utensils.
