#251920 How many different clubs do you shoot at?

Posted by Scott Cude on 01 August 2017 - 11:58 AM

So far only shot USPSA, Steel Challenge and used to shoot the conceal carry match at Safety First. Level 1 matches I have only shot at Old Fort, OKCGC, Ponca, and H&H, would love to get to Tulsa for Chad's match but Sunday mornings conflict with my 2nd job. Shot Kansas Sectional at Mill Creek primarily because it was close to family. Been thinking about going to one of the bowling pin shoots in Duncan and Travis is still trying to talk me into doing a Run & Gun in Pawnee. I will eventually try 3gun, and have wanted to get to old fort for their 2 gun match.

I agree about getting to different clubs, I have met some great folks and gotten to shoot some cool and challenging stages.

You need to get a chamber flag before you shoot any more uspsa matches.

I know a guy that has a website that probably carries them.....

Let me check at work.  I don't know what they do with the used ones,  but I know several guys have built boat docks with them.

#250295 PCC Conversion Vs Dedicated Lower

Posted by Scott Cude on 25 May 2017 - 09:44 PM

I also went with QC-10 lower, Upper and just about everything else from MakeReadyProShop.com. As for reloads, the taccom magwell is ugly but it helps a ton. JP bolt and barrel. Have had zero issues.

#249116 2017 Contingency Program Discussion

Posted by Scott Cude on 19 April 2017 - 11:35 AM

Not necessarily true. I ordered the first day and still haven't received a shipping confirmation email.

Definately call them. I was literally the first one to order (happened to stumble across them on the techwear site before burk posted they were ready). When Travis told me his had already shipped and he ordered a week later, I called and they told me it was scheduled to be done and shipped in a couple of days. Sounded like they might have been batching and because I ordered the dark polo, it happened to not be what they produced first. They were great and followed up via email.

#245635 Buckmark Vs. Mark III Vs. Victory

Posted by Scott Cude on 31 January 2017 - 07:42 AM

I've got a Ruger Mark III 22/45 that I've suppressed, upgraded, and enjoy. I really don't know jack about these little plinkers other then it's a blast to take them out with a suppressor on them and let friends and the kids ring steel until they are too dirty to cycle.

So I figured rather then buy one of each and find out for myself I'd ask the experts what y'all thought of this trio of 22 pistols.

I picked up a used victory around Christmas to shoot as a second gun in steel challenge (before I built my pcc). I have only shot a Mark III to compare with, but both are about the same to me. The victory has a pretty decent trigger out of the box and is as accurate as I need it to be. Lots of after market stuff from Tandemkross and Volquartsen. The ability to take it apart and clean it easily is handy. Only issues I have heard is with the takedown screw coming loose after 100 or so rounds. Was a easy fix by using a lock washer.

Overall a fun gun to shoot, especially with a red dot.

#245419 PCC / CO / SS

I could't resist either. Got my PCC put together today. Just need to get my c-more ordered. Got 95% of my parts from Tony and it turned out great. Can't wait to put some rounds through it.

#241194 Do you Carry?

Posted by Scott Cude on 25 October 2016 - 04:45 PM

in all seriousness, do any of us actually practice with our carry guns regularly? I know I don't. My carry gun is a miniature version of my Production gun but that still doesn't count.

I'm a bad sheepdog.

1st and 3rd Sundays at Safety First. I shoot what I am carrying when I walk through the door. As Mitch transitioned his matches from USPSA to the carry match several months ago, more and more competitors are shooting the match with the gun they carry. It actually exposed some issues with how I carried and even discovered a bad magazine that wouldn't feed. It had been my primary carry mag. Better to figure out in practice than when it really counts.

My hat's off and many thanks to the RO's that helped pull off a successful match.

100% agree. Great Match Greg! Special thanks to all that have been out in the heat all week setting up. It was great to put some faces to some of the folks here on BoomerShooter.
