Let's do this, IF AND ONLY IF you are comfortable doing so, bring your winter coat for concealment. We are coming up on the colder months and heavy coats can present "special concerns".

This is a carry gun match and, if you carry, you will be wearing a heavy coat at some time.

BE SAFE, PRACTICE REAL!

Yes, also the second shoot can be with the same handgun or another handgun!! (assuming 40 people don't show up which is not likely)

I will let David answer this. In the [past he hasn't allowed pocket holsters

I know, but....in the real world....as in an actual carry gun.....winter is the perfect time to carry a j frame in a coat pocket, in addition to a larger gun under it. You can stroll thru you're local Walmart parking lot, hand in you're coat pocket, ready to take out the Salvation Army guy for ringing that bell too loud. I can safely draw and reholster mine in a right hand jacket pocket without a problem I do realize it might not be advisable in a match so I'll live with whatever is decided. I guess my .380 from a motorcycle vest pocket is not worth asking about. :)

I would also like to shoot from my pocket holster just to remain familiar with it. Maybe David will be feeling generous. We will see

Pocket Holsters....

I've been considering this topic for awhile now. No one allows them that I'm aware of, including a club or association specifically geared towards shooting matches with pocket guns.

Conventional wisdom is that they are "unsafe" for the user to draw from.....yet we allow appendix carry.

Here's what I'll do:

Pocket holsters ARE allowed, if you've shot at least two matches with us. I am reluctant to allow a brand new shooter to use a pocket holster at his first match, so if he prices himself safe for 2 matches, his 3rd match he can draw from a pocket. Holster must still cover trigger guard. (no, the pocket material doesn't count as covering the trigger)

Shoulder holsters are still NOT allowed, so don't ask.
