I've got a mag loader that is similar to that. Great to beat that sore thumb.

    Steel challenge pistol upgrades

We see lots of different brands at our gun club, mostly among the new players. Some old colt woodsman models, and others. If they get seriously it's Ruger and sometimes buckmarks.

    Steel challenge pistol upgrades

The majority of pistols I see in all of the steel challenge matches are Ruger Mark III to Mark IV. Most with dots, some with muzzle brakes.

Cleaning for open gun comp - carbon build up

I'll have to give that mix a try. Mine are all stainless, so there won't be an issue with bluing.

What ingredients are you using in your 50/50 mix?

    New Ruger Mark IV Style

I like my Mark III hunter with the longer barrel. The brake and forward dot keep a steady muzzle during steel challenge matches. No barrel flip from the bolt cycling.

Never Pass Up A Box That Says........

Great find. I have an AMT Auto Mag in .22 WMR. Accurate enough but it suffers in the reliability department which as I understand was common to that caliber in a semi auto handgun.

    Century Canik

Interesting. I've recently heard of them but haven't seen any actual range reports.

    Any 1911 fans here?

Oh hell no! The 9mm will take down elephants and will shoot down aircraft at 30,000 feet if you listen to the fanboys because it improved in its technology! So let's think this through......if a bullet manufacturer found a new design for a bullet, would they only put that new design into only...

    Any 1911 fans here?

I actually hated 1911's after having to qualify with mine in the Army. It was so worn out that I was surprised it held together. On a whim a several years back when Kimber was making one off pistols that were fitted, I bought a Stainless stalker in .45 acp that I fell in love with. Shot it in...

Cleaning for open gun comp - carbon build up

My Volquartsen .22 comp gets crazy packed full of powder residue. It had a nice polished stainless finish on it until I ran it through the bead blaster. I tried every trick on the internet to get the cement like residue out. Bead blaster is the only sure way, and it now sports a dull finish.

    LIFECARD® .22LR

Good answer. I shot at a range in Colorado today with a guy that had a pocket .380 in some sort of holster where you had to incorporate the holster in firing the gun. Totally awkward and slow to get out of the pocket.Had him demo a "fast draw" from the pocket, and it took about 10 seconds. Not...

    Steel challenge pistol upgrades

I have a Volquartsen Comp on my Mark III Hunter. It certainly jets gas upward as well as adding a tad bit of weight to the muzzle. I put a 4” square piece of light cardboard that had been folded in half over it and fired. It sent it several feet in the air. Don’t remember the ammo I was...

The magazine disconnect was the first thing to go in my mark III hunter and it went gone also in the Mark IV I did the other day.

    Steel challenge pistol upgrades

I just installed a Majestic Arms master trigger kit in a Mark 4 Hunter for a friend that replaces the sear, hammer, trigger and disconnector. You do have to fit and smooth the disconnector for the final step. Went from a 5.5 lb pull to a smooth 2.4 lb. Just another suggestion to consider.

    Ruger LCPII | Review

At the ranges I plan to use the Keltek, no front sight is necessary. I do have a laser on it though for low light conditions. Pocket guns are designed for close work.

    Ruger LCPII | Review

Been carrying my P3AT for many years knowing it’s a last resort gun when you and bubba are on the ground seeing who is gonna get back up. Or when lounging around a pool somewhere when it’s the only thing that will conceal. The only time it’s been used on a living thing was late one...

Ruger recalls the Mark IV Pistol

Ruger recently discovered that all Mark IV[emoji769] pistols (including 22/45[emoji769] models) manufactured prior to June 1, 2017 have the potential to discharge unintentionally if the safety is not utilized correctly. In particular, if the trigger is pulled while the safety lever is midway...
